3.7 QRGs: The Genre

  1. What do the conventions of this genre- the Quick Reference Guide - seem to be? They are the rules being followed as to how the document is being designed and formatted.

  2.  How are those conventions defined by the author's formatting and design choices? The QRGs are following the "Principles of Document Design (Rules for Writers Chapter 50, pages 402-409) in their styles of writing. 

  3. What does the purpose of these QRGs seem to be? The QRGs are used as guides for different audience readers. They allow the audience readers to have a flow of the document as they follow the reading.

  4. Who is the intended audience for these different QRGs?Are they intended for similar audiences? Or different? How and why?Each different heading in the QRGs use ing phrases, noun pharses and questions for each different audience and each QRGs uses consistency in each of their formatting. These heading are providing an overview as a summary before the audience reader begins or does not read through the document.

  5. How do the QRGs use imagery or visuals? Why do you think they use them in this way? The QRGs images and visual to convey messages and they support the points being made. Each image or visual is credited and labeled and placed next to the area of the particular writing it applies to.
Reflection

I posted comments to Oscar Acosta and Michael Dominquez I learned from my classmates that the visuals and images grab the attention of the reader and how they will react when reading the topic. Also, the QRG's give a brief explanation of the topic and sometimes the Q & A's give a better format.
